Pigeon Control · Temporary & Permanent Options

Pigeon net for balcony — honest rates, and the permanent alternative

We install HDPE and nylon pigeon nets across Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Gandhinagar — and we'll tell you upfront: a net is a temporary fix that lasts 2–3 years. On the same free survey you can price the permanent option, our SS316 invisible grill.

Pigeons on the balcony mean droppings, nesting, blocked ducts and health worries — and most Gujarat installers will happily sell you a net and disappear. We do it differently: we install pigeon nets in five core cities at transparent per-sq.ft rates, and we also install the permanent alternative, the invisible grill. Because we sell both, our advice costs you nothing and hides nothing: a net is the right temporary fix for some homes, and the wrong long-term spend for others. Here's everything — prices, lifespan, and the honest comparison — so you can decide in one visit.

Transparent Net Pricing

Pigeon net price — per sq.ft

Typical balcony job: ₹2,500–5,000 installed. Minimum job value ₹2,500. Net installation is available in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Gandhinagar only — everywhere else we install the permanent invisible grill. Nets are a temporary solution: budget for replacement every 2–3 years.

Applications

Where we install pigeon nets

Balconies

Open and semi-covered balconies netted with UV-stabilised mesh tensioned frame-to-frame, so pigeons can't land, nest or squeeze in at the edges.

Windows & AC units

Fixed mesh over window openings and AC ledges — the most common nesting spot in Gujarat high-rises, and the first place droppings pile up.

Ducts, shafts & passages

Society duct shafts and service passages where droppings accumulate for years, closed off cleanly so the shaft stays ventilated but bird-free.

Temporary vs Permanent

A net is a fix. An invisible grill is a solution.

Why A1 Grills

Why book your net with A1 Grills

We install both, so our advice is neutral

A net seller can't tell you when a net is wrong for your home; we can — and do. If the permanent invisible grill is the better spend, we'll say so at the survey.

UV-stabilised material, tensioned properly

Most net failures come from cheap material and slack fitting. We use UV-stabilised HDPE or heavy-duty nylon, tensioned edge to edge so pigeons can't probe a gap open.

Transparent rates, ₹2,500 minimum job

Per-sq.ft pricing is published on this page — no surprise extras at the door, and a clear ₹2,500 minimum job value so small jobs aren't padded invisibly.

We log your install date

Nets fail by year three. We record your install date, remind you before the mesh gives out, and quote both the replacement net and the permanent grill again.

Why nets fail by year three

The Gujarat sun is the first enemy. Even UV-stabilised mesh loses plasticiser season by season, and by the second or third summer the strands turn brittle enough to snap under a pigeon's landing weight — un-stabilised bargain mesh gets there in one.

Monsoon and wind do the slower damage. A net is only as good as its tension, and every wet-dry cycle stretches the mesh a little; a sagging net gives pigeons a place to land, and a landing spot becomes a probing spot.

The fixings fail last but worst. Every hook and grommet is a stress point, and once one tears, the whole panel loosens from that corner. Pigeons only need one gap — they re-enter through a single opened edge, and then you're back to droppings and nesting behind a net that looks mostly intact.

None of this is a fitting defect — it's the material physics of mesh in this climate. It's why we call every net a temporary solution, log your install date, and remind you before year three arrives.

Renter or owner? How to choose

If you're renting, or you expect to move within a couple of years, a net is the rational choice: ₹2,500–5,000 today, it does the job for its 2–3 year life, and you won't be there to pay for the replacement.

If you own the home — especially with kids or pets using the balcony — run the 10-year math. A typical 100 sq.ft balcony re-netted every 2–3 years costs ₹12,000–20,000 over a decade (3–4 installs), and the mesh is never load-rated for safety. The invisible grill at our flat ₹95/sq.ft is ₹9,500 once — SS316 cables, a 10-year warranty, child-safe, and you never pay again.

Either way, you don't have to decide before the survey: it's free, and the surveyor quotes both the net and the grill in the same visit.

FAQ

Pigeon Nets — common questions

What does a pigeon net cost?

Our per-sq.ft rates are published on this page. A typical balcony job comes to ₹2,500–5,000 installed, with a ₹2,500 minimum job value. The free survey confirms the exact number before any work starts.

How long does a pigeon net last?

2–3 years in the Gujarat sun. UV exposure makes the mesh brittle, tension sags over the monsoons, and pigeons probe at the gaps. A net is a temporary solution — budget for a replacement when you buy one.

Do you install nets outside the five cities?

No. Net installation is core-city only: Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Gandhinagar. Everywhere else we install the permanent invisible grill instead.

Is a pigeon net child-safe?

No. Net mesh is not load-rated and must never be treated as a safety barrier for children or pets. If children use the balcony, look at the invisible grill — it blocks pigeons and is load-tested for safety in the same install.

HDPE or nylon — which net should I choose?

HDPE is right for standard balconies and windows; heavier knotted nylon suits high-exposure balconies and duct areas. Our surveyor recommends the material on site — the per-sq.ft rate for each is in the table above.

How long does installation take?

Most balcony jobs finish in 2–4 hours, and where possible we install on the same visit as the survey.

Pigeon net or invisible grill — which is better?

A net is temporary and cheaper today; the invisible grill is a one-time install that lasts a lifetime, is child-safe, and stays near-invisible. See the full 10-year comparison at /pigeon-net-vs-invisible-grill — or get both quotes in one free survey.
