Greater Kailash, Delhi
Greater Kailash is being rebuilt one plot at a time. The 200-to-500-square-yard kothis DLF laid out in the 1960s are coming down and stilt-plus-four builder floors are going up — three hundred and twenty-odd floors on sale in GK-1 alone — each floor a family, each family two to four balconies, and no society standard telling anyone what the grill should look like. Add the Jahanpanah forest on GK-2's edge and its monkeys, and the brief writes itself.

Living in Greater Kailash
GK-1's lettered blocks — S, A and B along the colony park, E toward Kailash Colony, M around the market, N and W on the leafy streets — are the prized addresses, and their listings tell the building story: a three-bedroom floor on 208 square yards with lift and stilt parking beside a seven-bedroom kothi on 500 square yards that has not yet been redeveloped. GK-2's E, S and W blocks run to the 435-acre Jahanpanah City Forest, and W Block floors are sold on the forest view behind them; DLF Kings Court and Queens Court are the colony's only multi-storey complexes. GK Enclave 2 adds forty-odd new floors with terraces on 250-square-yard plots; GK Enclave 1 is the low-density, diplomat-favoured pocket.
The residents are among the wealthiest in the city — owner families in the ground and first floors, expat and embassy tenants on the upper ones at rents of two to four lakh a month — organised around the M and N Block markets, Don Bosco and Summer Fields, Fortis C-Doc and the Greater Kailash and Kailash Colony metro stations. Every floor rebuilt under the 2023 bye-laws is handed over with bare balconies and a family that will not accept a welded grill on a nine-crore home.
The conditions are specific and on the record. The Nehru Nagar monitor across the Ring Road was Delhi's worst station in December 2025; August 2026 put GK's flooded roads on the news, raft and all; the New Indian Express has reported the monkey menace in GK by name, and the local MLA has said the problem concentrates in posh colonies like this one — the forest-edge blocks of GK-2 and the park-facing blocks of GK-1 see it most. Between winter particulate, monsoon and a neighbour's rebuild dropping cement dust, painted steel is a maintenance habit; two-millimetre SS316 cable on sealed anodised track is not.
Verified partner crews in the A1 Grills network quote ₹149 per square foot installed across GK-1, GK-2 and the Enclaves. Jobs here are floor-by-floor and premium — two to four balconies and a terrace edge per floor, often with thicker 2.5 mm cable where the owner wants it, openable sections for façade cleaning, and a finish that disappears against the glass. Everything is fitted from inside, load-tested on handover and covered by the installer's 10-year written warranty.
Crews cover GK-1, GK-2 and GK Enclave 1–2 — every lettered block from the M and N Block markets to the Jahanpanah forest edge, up to the Kailash Colony, Chittaranjan Park and Alaknanda boundaries.

What Delhi customers say
FAQ · Greater Kailash
₹149 per square foot installed, in writing after a free site visit — SS316 marine-grade cable, anodised aluminium track, stainless tensioners and labour. Thicker 2.5 mm cable or a full terrace run is quoted on the same per-square-foot basis. You are matched with up to 2 verified installers to compare quotes; Delhi quotes well under ₹120 are usually SS304 cable, so ask for the grade certificate.
Yes. The 2 mm SS316 cables are tensioned at 2-inch spacing and each carries around 250 kg of horizontal load, so a monkey cannot part them or squeeze through, and there is no bar to swing on — unlike an open railing or a loose net. The balcony stays open to the Jahanpanah view; what changes is that the doors can stay open too. Ask the crew about pairing it with a cable-mounted mesh if you also want pigeons out.
Only in that you decide alone. There is no society elevation rule on a GK builder floor — the anodised track anchors into your balcony slab and parapet from inside, adds no projection, and is fully reversible, so RWAs raise no objection. On a freshly handed-over floor the crew fits all balconies and the terrace edge in one visit; openable sections are added wherever façade cleaners need access.
Usually within 24 hours. The network matches you with verified installers near you on the south Delhi side, so every block from the M and N Block markets to the Jahanpanah edge, GK Enclave 1 and 2 and the Kailash Colony side is a short trip. Measurement takes about half an hour, the written quote follows the same day, and the install is load-tested in front of you before handover.
