2mm SS316 cables become visually invisible from a few feet away — your skyline stays yours.
Vasant Kunj, Delhi
Vasant Kunj sits under runway 29 and beside Sanjay Van — which means every balcony here deals with aircraft at sixty decibels most days and monkeys from the ridge on the rest. The DDA's 1990s sectors A to E are walk-up pockets and the river-named multi-storey societies of Sector D, filling with corporate and expat tenants close to Ambience Mall and the airport. Residents keep the doors shut; an invisible grill is how they get the balcony back.

Living in Vasant Kunj
Vasant Kunj was farmland until the DDA laid it out in the 1990s as five sectors of pockets. Sectors A, B and C are the low-rise DDA flats — Sector B's Pockets 9, 10 and 11, Sector C's Pockets 2, 3, 6, 8 and 9, Sector A's Pockets B and C — three-and-four-floor blocks built around 1990, some now retro-fitted with lifts. Sector D is the multi-storey tier: the SFS blocks and D3–D4, and the river-named societies — Kaveri, Narmada, Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati — with managing committees and guards. Sector E's new allotment is the youngest DDA stock; Vasant Kunj Enclave is the plotted builder-floor pocket, and Kishangarh and Masoodpur villages on the ridge edge carry the dense rental floors.
The residents are families and professionals working in Gurugram, the airport and the embassies, around Ambience, DLF Promenade and Emporio, JNU and TERI, Fortis and the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, DPS and Vasant Valley — and, unusually for Delhi, rentals outnumber sales, so the landlord's approval matters as much as the RWA's.
The conditions are on the record in a way few localities can match. Vasant Kunj lies in the approach path to runway 29: residents litigated aircraft noise from 2009 through the High Court and the NGT, DIAL built a kilometre-long noise wall, and the airport's own monitors still log more than sixty decibels on most days — which is why balcony doors here stay shut and glazed. In 2018 the Kaveri, Yamuna, Ganga, Saraswati and Narmada societies made the news when monkeys from Sanjay Van entered flats and committees hired extra guards. Three hours of rain submerged Sector A in July 2024, and the airport road waterlogged again in August 2026. A painted grill gives a monkey a ladder and the monsoon a rust line; two-millimetre SS316 cable tensioned at two-inch spacing gives no foothold, does not rust, and sits inside the glazing line so the opening can stay screened without a visual cage.
Verified partner crews in the A1 Grills network quote ₹149 per square foot installed across Sectors A to E, the Enclave and the Kishangarh edge. Sector D societies book block-wide once the managing committee has the spec sheet; the DDA pockets are individual balcony-and-window jobs. Everything is fitted from inside, load-tested on handover and covered by the installer's 10-year written warranty.
Crews cover all of Vasant Kunj — Sectors A to E and every pocket, Vasant Kunj Enclave, Nelson Mandela Marg and Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, out to the Kishangarh and Masoodpur edge.

What Delhi customers say
FAQ · Vasant Kunj
₹149 per square foot installed, in writing after a free site visit — SS316 marine-grade cable, anodised aluminium track, stainless tensioners and labour, the same rate in a Sector D multi-storey and a Sector C walk-up. You are matched with up to 2 verified installers to compare quotes; Delhi quotes well under ₹120 are usually SS304 cable, so ask for the grade certificate.
It is a genuine barrier where a mild-steel grill is a ladder. The 2 mm SS316 cables are tensioned at 2-inch spacing and each carries around 250 kg of horizontal load, so a monkey cannot part them, squeeze through or get a foothold to climb. Installers in Sector D societies fit it as a first line so windows and balcony doors can stay open; pair it with cable-mounted mesh if you also want pigeons out.
No — and no honest installer will claim it does. What the cable grill changes is that you can keep the opening glazed or screened against noise without a welded cage in front of the glass: the track sits inside the balcony line, adds no projection and stays nearly invisible, so the view over the ridge is intact while the doors are shut. Noise reduction comes from the glazing; the grill keeps the balcony safe when it is open.
Usually within 24 hours. The network matches you with verified installers near you on the south-west Delhi side, so Nelson Mandela Marg, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, every sector pocket, the Enclave and the Kishangarh–Sanjay Van edge are all short trips. Measurement takes about half an hour, the written quote follows the same day, and the install is load-tested in front of you before handover.
